		Hope House embodies the hope of the small congregation of the Portlandville Methodist Church when they renovated the 1849 house that used to be the parsonage. The members shared their minister with the next village and the house had fallen into grave disrepair. Completely renovated in 2007, the summer income has brought this lovely house back to life and also helps support the church and its ministries.
Portlandville is a very small community just 10 minutes from Dreams Park which is also on Route 28. Kayak and canoe rentals are available a very short distance away. Whether you're coming to this area for the Baseball Hall of Fame, Dreams Park, Glimmerglass Opera, Fenimore Art Museum, or the Farmer's Museum, Hope House is ideally located just minutes between Oneonta and Cooperstown in the heart of Leatherstocking Country. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, this house is an ideal home for a couple of families to share.		Only 10 minutes to Dreams Park! Cable TV, WiFi and AC!

The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary cooking utensils and appliances. A laundry room with washer and dryer are next to the kitchen.

One bedroom with a queen bed and two bathrooms are located on the first floor. The second floor has a second bedroom with a queen bed, the third bedroom has two twin beds and the fourth has bunk beds. A third full bathrooms is located on the second floor.


All necessary bedding and towels are supplied. Housekeeping is not provided. The maximum occupancy is eight people. Since cell phones work well here, no house phone is provided.
Enjoy the scenery and wildlife at close quarters - geese, ducks, egrets, herons, eagles! Relax in the backyard with summer furniture and gas grill - fishing poles provided.

This is a wonderful place for bird watching (eagles have been seen), watching the small boats go by, fishing, or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery
